As we know, yesterday – July 13, T1 had a quite tough victory against HLE with a score of 2-1, finishing the first phase with a record of 8 wins – 1 loss. However, T1’s struggle did not come from their opponent but from League of Legends itself as continuous game bugs caused the match to be delayed for an excessively long time.

With the match being interrupted like that, the morale of the players will be significantly affected, leading them to not perform with the same dedication. Additionally, the community is also outraged by the management of the match when T1’s Oner shared that he reported the bug of Smite to the referee twice, yet they still allowed the match to continue. For Faker himself, this legend could not hide his disappointment towards Riot during the post-match press conference.

Question: In the last match, there were too many troublesome situations due to game bugs. How do you feel about that?
T1 Faker: It’s not just this match; since the spring season, there have been many instances where the match was interrupted. The fixes are implemented too slowly, and this makes me feel very dissatisfied. It’s a pity that these bugs directly affect the game. For example, in the last match, we had 5 kills, but after the bug fix, the whole team had to do that all over again.
This significantly reduces the value and excitement of the tournament for the audience. There are too many bugs that have persisted for years that they (Riot Games) haven’t fixed and just let them exist in the game. I am truly disappointed with the troublesome situations in the last match. They need to upgrade the quality of League of Legends as soon as possible.
Basically, in a typical game, bugs are a common occurrence because no product is perfect. However, what’s blameworthy for Riot here is that they allow these bugs to persist despite being discovered and having previously affected major tournaments. If you remember, the Rift Herald had a serious bug at MSI 2021, and yet over a year later, it still occurred at the LPL tournament.

In recent years, Riot Games has earned many new nicknames such as “Riot Film Studio”, “Riot Entertainment Company”, etc. This stems from their poor game development but significant investment in entertainment products. With such severe bugs still appearing frequently in professional tournaments, the criticism and mockery of Riot with the aforementioned nicknames will continue for a long time to come.
