Faker’s “low key” style almost got him into trouble
Among the top League of Legends players in the world, Faker is perhaps one of the most “reserved” on social media. His posts usually seem to be mandatory requirements from advertising contracts. If Faker voluntarily uses social media (specifically Instagram), it would likely be for a special event related to himself and T1. This very thing almost caused Faker to “face backlash” as he was unaware of Instagram’s image cropping mechanism.

Specifically, the images that Faker posted on social media to celebrate T1’s championship at the 2024 World Championship had one cropping out Rekkles, and another cropping out Zeus. However, the cropped image of Rekkles was the first to go live and immediately stirred up the League of Legends community. This is because Faker has always been a refined and standard player, while Rekkles is merely a substitute for T1. Immediately after, Faker deleted the old post and replaced it with a new batch of images.

Fans Come to Faker’s Defense
Clearly, given his personality, it would be hard to believe that Faker “intentionally” posted an image with any member cropped out like that. Furthermore, fans have been vigorously defending Faker, noting that other images also cropped out many T1 members, such as Zeus or the T1 coaching staff. This indicates that Faker is simply so “low-key” that he didn’t understand Instagram’s image cropping mechanism.

Moreover, both T1 and Faker have shown great enthusiasm towards Rekkles. The former LEC ADC has demonstrated how well he integrates with T1, making it hard to believe that there’s any discrimination against him at this time.

As a seasoned professional player known for his proper conduct both on and off the battlefield, Faker will surely know what to do to ensure that everything remains in good order. However, this could also be a lesson for T1’s Mid Laner to “stay updated” with technology and social media in the future.
