For a long time, in the world of League of Legends, VCS has always been regarded as a “developing region”. While it does have 2 slots to participate in Worlds and 1 slot for MSI, VCS teams often do not achieve very good results in these tournaments. The impressions of VCS teams at MSI or Worlds are only those times when they defeat top teams in the group stage, only to sadly exit the tournament early in the end.

However, Vietnamese League of Legends players are not underestimated. Recently, in a talk show, a trio of highly influential figures in the European and American League of Legends community, namely Doublelift, Caedrel, and LS, shared their thoughts on the “national game” of Riot, covering everything related to League of Legends. Surprisingly, all three spared no praise for VCS players and also mentioned SofM.
Doublelift stated: “I am truly surprised by the skill level of Vietnamese players right now. Their level is really top-notch. It’s crazy that they can reach that level.” Immediately, the “mouth of the South” LS chimed in: “It’s strange how they can climb Korean ranks with a ping of 100. They can also pull off some solo kills. It’s really bizarre!”
Continuing the conversation, Caedrel recalled how SofM once climbed the Korean ranks with a ping of about 100 – 150, with LS confirming it was around 130 ping. Caedrel also praised SofM: “The brother has gone to China to compete and reached the finals of Worlds, he’s like a gem that will be sought after wherever he goes.”
It can be said that during their appearances in international competitions, VCS has left a significant impression. Notably, SofM achieved the milestone of being the first Vietnamese League of Legends player from VCS to step onto the stage of the Worlds finals. Although he only reached the runner-up position, the contributions of Vietnamese players, especially SofM, have garnered VCS more attention and respect from the international League of Legends community.
