Remember, just before the VCS Spring 2022, the VCS community was buzzing due to the EGO – Zeros drama. While the former SBTC Esports player continuously posted images and articles accusing EGO of creating content to “fish” for donations, the players from CERBERUS Esports were not backing down, responding continuously to Zeros. The two sides created an ongoing debate on social media for several days.

The aftermath of the incident resulted in EGO not competing since the VCS Spring 2022 and the SEA Games 31 qualifier for League of Legends began. EGO’s absence has severely impacted CES’s performance. Although Phuc1 has been performing well, it still isn’t enough to fill the gap left by the “SofM’s disciple.” CES was eliminated from the SEA Games 31 qualifiers and is currently ranked third in the VCS Spring 2022 standings. Notably, since EGO’s absence, CES has not won any more matches against GAM Esports.

Recently, CES also made an official announcement to “close the case” regarding EGO and announced the punishment for this player. In addition to losing 3 months’ salary, EGO will also be under supervision whenever using social media, and CES confirmed that there would be stricter penalties if EGO reoffends. The player himself must also apologize to CES fans in particular and the VCS community in general.

From the fans’ side, most expressed sympathy for EGO’s situation and hope that this player will soon return to professional League of Legends and behave more cautiously in the future. Some even made a “dig” by saying it was fortunate that EGO was “not permanently banned like someone else.”

With this latest move, it can be confirmed that EGO will soon return to the VCS Spring 2022, possibly in the upcoming match against Team Flash. EGO’s return will certainly benefit CES a lot, especially as the VCS Spring 2022 has reached a crucial stage and “The Dog God” remains one of the contenders for the championship.
