Besides his impressive achievements and top-tier reputation, Faker is also known as one of the highest-earning stars in the professional League of Legends scene, yet he is quite frugal when it comes to spending.
A difficult childhood has instilled in Faker a strong respect for money, and he never splurges on things he considers unnecessary. However, fans were still surprised by the value of the “expensive” item he has ever purchased when an online interview between Faker and a Chinese newspaper was published.
Specifically, during this interview, the reporter mentioned Faker’s “savings lifestyle” and asked about the most expensive item he has ever bought, to which the Demon King’s answer once again left fans in shock:

– Faker is known for his frugal and economical lifestyle, can we ask how much the most expensive item you have bought is?
– Well, actually I don’t shop much, so there’s probably not much to tell. Recently, I bought an electric piano for 80,000 won (around… 1.6 million VND). It’s just a hobby, I’ve been learning music lately, so that’s probably the most expensive item.
In this online interview, Faker also shared more about his personal interests, such as his favorite champion being LeBlanc and the entertainment game he enjoys the most is Jump King.
Additionally, Faker mentioned that recently he has been diligently exploring books that help improve his communication skills (probably to make his jokes less bland).

It seems that Faker’s spending habits haven’t changed much over the years. For Vietnamese gamers, a keyboard worth 1.6 million VND is just a mid-range product and not particularly “premium,” yet this is the most expensive item for Faker.
However, it should be emphasized that this is just the product that “Faker personally paid for.” In reality, all of his gaming equipment, from keyboards, mice, to keypads, are fully sponsored. In fact, just the curved monitor from the Odyssey brand that Faker is sponsored by through the collaboration project between T1 and the leading electronics brand in South Korea is probably worth many times the 1.6 million VND. Not to mention the extremely valuable real estate he owns in the capital city of Seoul, which he has authorized his father to buy and sell, so it doesn’t get “listed” on this list.

Nevertheless, Faker’s frugal nature remains a story that makes his fan community both admire and also find it amusing. How can someone known as the chairman only spend a mere 200,000 won a month, and now he’s even exposing himself as a guy who specializes in “using promotional items”?
