Since its release, Sett has always been among the top champions for top lane in both solo queue and competitive play. This champion can be described as perfect with ample tankiness, damage, crowd control, and the ability to create chaos in fights, plus there are very few counters to him. Among his abilities, Sett’s W – Haymaker is the most powerful, dealing true damage while providing a massive shield for this “top-tier thug”.

The excessive OP nature of this ability makes Sett nearly unfazed by any top laner. Even though his basic stats like healing and base armor were significantly nerfed in patch 10.5, he remains too powerful, forcing Riot Games to intervene with Sett once again. Just a few hours ago, Riot’s gameplay design lead, Mark Yetter, posted detailed changes for patch 10.8:

Strength of Jungle Champions
Jungle monster camps will increase in experience starting from level 9.
Jungle items will provide an additional 50% healing when champions are below 30% of their maximum health.
The Vanguard effect when champions are killed early in the game: Increases movement speed by 50% which gradually decreases over 5 seconds.
The experience gained when taking down enemy champions with teammates is reduced by 20% (at levels 1-6) and reduced by 10% (at levels 7-8).
The experience gained when taking down enemy champions solo increases by 20% (at levels 1-6) and increases by 10% (at levels 7-8).

Nerfs.
Sett: The base damage of W – Haymaker is reduced from 90-210 to 80-180.

Master Yi: The additional attack speed from R – Highlander is reduced from 30-80% to 25-65%.
Aphelios
The additional stat per level changes from 3-18% armor penetration to 2-12 lethality.
The damage of Q interacts with levels from 1-9 to 1-13 (the power at level 13 is equivalent to level 9 currently).

Senna: The chance of soul appearance from non-Senna minion kills is reduced from 25% to 22%.
Varus: The cooldown of R – Chain of Corruption is increased from 110-70s to 130-70s.

Base armor is reduced from 23 to 21.
E – Rend: Slow effect is reduced from 25-45% to 10-42%.

Buffs
Urgot
Q – Corrosive Charge: Damage increased from 25-205 (+0.7 total AD) to 25-225 (+0.8 total AD).
R – Fear Beyond Death: Cooldown reduced from 120-70s to 100-70s.
Evelynn
Q – Hate Spike: Damage per spike increased from 25-35 to 30-50.

Soraka
Base energy increased from 375 to 425.
Q – Starcall: Energy cost reduced from 60-80 to 45-65.
Xayah
Damage reduction per additional enemy hit with each Feather reduced from 10% to 5%.

Tristana
E – Explosive Charge: Interaction ratio with AD increased from 50-130% to 50-170%.
Ashe
Q – Ranger’s Focus: Additional attack speed increased from 20-40% to 20-60%.
Ryze
Base health increased from 570.48 to 575. Base damage increased from 55.04 to 56.
Q – Overload: Bonus movement speed when consuming 2 Rune charges increased from 20-40% to 28-44%.
Orianna
W – Command: Dissonance: Slow and speed boost increased from 20-40% to 30-50%.
E – Command: Protect: Interaction ratio with AP increased from 0.4 to 0.5.
