In the rework project of Fiddlesticks, Riot Games has officially released a small edition titled “Demonology” on the official story, specifically a chart called “Family Tree of Demons” – An ancient document recording information about 10 ancient demons confirmed to exist in Runeterra, with Fiddlesticks being the first demon documented in history.
Since then, the doctrine about this horrifying and haunting species of the League of Legends universe has officially formed. So far, the names that have appeared including Yone – the latest champion have reached number 7 and each demon has its own unique characteristics.

Fiddlesticks – Demon of Fear
As the ancestor of demons and the first demon to appear in this family tree, Fiddlesticks is portrayed most authentically regarding fears through a short film about him released not long ago.

Without a form from the beginning, the physical embodiment of Fiddlesticks is made up of the “leftover flesh” of countless prey that it has devoured. In the fear video in Demacia, the predatory method that Fiddlesticks employs is vividly depicted by Riot as both prey have no chance to resist and can only leave behind the sounds of despair.

Swain – Demon of Deep Secrets (Raum)
The next branch of the family tree introduces the demon of confusion and secrets. For a long time, League of Legends fans have always regarded Swain as a defeated champion, borrowing the power of demons to recover, but Riot has not provided a definitive name or theory about the demon Swain encountered in the Immortal Fortress, making everything about this demon a mystery to many.

However, this has gradually been revealed after Fiddlesticks’ appearance. He easily identifies his kind among 4 other demons, and when it comes to Swain, this scarecrow recognizes the master of that power as Raum through the interactive dialogue between the two champions. According to what has been revealed through Fiddlesticks as well as the family tree, Raum is likely a demon that has been around since Mordekaiser was still alive and exists to this day.

According to Demonology, Raum is a Grand Duke of Hell, the 40th demon among the 72 demons of King Solomon. According to recorded legends, his past was as an angel named Thrones, and after his fall, he became a dark demon of the rank of duke, commanding 30 legions of demons. Raum can shift between human form and a giant crow when necessary or upon request from the summoner. He possesses a voice that thunders like lightning, knows the past, present, and future, and can reconcile conflicts between adversaries. He often destroys villages and cities; causes discord; steals treasures from any king and takes them to places known only to him.

Some theories suggest that Swain has deceived Raum and sealed him to utilize his power, but the powers of these ancient demons are limitless, and is it really reasonable for Swain to easily control this demon? Or is the demon using Swain as a tool for his own return?
Shaco – Demon of Confusion (Delirium)
Born around the same time as Raum, the confusion demon Delirium has likely existed for quite a while during the early formation of Runeterra. Introduced as a toy crafted long ago for a lonely prince, the enchanted puppet Shaco now delights in murder and chaos. Corrupted by dark magic, it seeks joy in the suffering of the unfortunate souls it torments.

From these details, Shaco reveals himself as a vessel inhabited by dark magic, similar to how Raum inhabits Swain. Moreover, the details about him being the first clown assassin in all of Valoran further indicate that Delirium is a demon that has been around for a long time and is almost a “relative” compared to later demons like Tahm Kench, Evelynn.
Tahm Kench – Demon of Greed (Addiction)
Moving to the third branch of the family tree, we encounter demons that have developed a much more intelligent and rational “hunting” method compared to their predecessors. And the demon of greed could not be more fitting than Tahm Kench, with the way he lures his prey. Deceptive and slowly gnawing at them with the insatiable greed of the victims themselves.

Known by numerous names throughout history, the demon Tahm Kench travels across the waters of Runeterra, satisfying its insatiable appetite with the suffering of others. However, it is quite surprising that although he is a demon of greed, Tahm Kench seems to be more “picky” about his prey compared to other demons, only “targeting” those with greed in their hearts. Nevertheless, these are just stories told, and the percentage of truth in these tales remains a big question mark.
