It seems that for those in the League of Legends community in particular and the gaming community in general, the phenomenon of “smurfing” is somewhat well-known. These players possess a lot of skill but, for some reason, particularly enjoy showcasing their skills against less experienced players. The reasons for “smurfing” largely stem from personal ego satisfaction, but over time, it has become a negative influence on the LoL community. Players encountering “smurfs” can easily be defeated with overwhelming scores. Not to mention, some “smurfs” are even aiming to profit off boosting accounts.

“Smurfing” in League of Legends is not a new phenomenon

Of course, many gamers have faced this situation, but despite reporting or accusing Riot, the situation remains unchanged. This is because the methods of these “smurfs” are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and in reality, their annihilation of opponents in a match is not against Riot’s regulations. While it may frustrate players, it does not constitute a specific violation. However, recently, an experienced gamer has found a way to counter these “smurfs” that has garnered enthusiastic applause from the community.

According to reports, a 60-year-old player who is casually playing in Iron rank felt extremely frustrated when continuously encountering “smurfs”. So instead of futilely reporting to Riot, this player decided to use an account at the Master rank (either gifted or purchased) and… continuously “feed” in every match to drag his teammates down in rank as well.

The actions of this “old gamer” have led many to not only feel annoyed but also to acknowledge that this method is quite “creative”. However, there are also mixed opinions suggesting that the actions of this male gamer could affect the “smurf” players, but also impact normal gamers who just want to enjoy the game. Therefore, this method should not be widely replicated.

– “Riot and ‘smurf’, can you name a more classic duo?”

– “Welcome to Brazil”

– “This is truly a legend of League of Legends”

– “This is the content I really love”

However, the actions of this older gamer also highlight that Riot has not truly resolved the long-standing issue. And when players have begun to “fend for themselves”, Riot may indeed need to take more decisive actions to prevent this situation from continuing.
