In recent days, the VCS community has been paying a lot of attention to the incident between DNS Gaming and the VCS Organizers. According to reports, after being penalized by the VCS Organizers for match-fixing, DNS fiercely retaliated and declared their readiness to confront the VCS organizers of the highest League of Legends tournament in Vietnam. Meanwhile, the VCS community has been divided and countless debates have erupted over the incident.

Most recently, commentator Hoàng Luân – a highly influential figure in the VCS community, spoke out about the incident. In a recent stream, the famous commentator from the Vietnamese League of Legends scene received many questions regarding the situation between DNS and the VCS Organizers. Previously, Hoàng Luân was also a member of the VCS Organizers. However, he has since stepped down from this role and now only comments on matches in the VCS and some in the LCK.
Accordingly, commentator Hoàng Luân candidly addressed the DNS situation: “The community putting pressure on the VCS Organizers is justified so that the organizers will provide clearer announcements in the future. However, one thing that many people might find disappointing and think indicates unprofessionalism is that: The organizers are not obligated to provide evidence to the community. And this has precedent even at Riot. For instance, Riot once forced a team owner to sell their team within 24 hours for reasons for which they provided no evidence.”

Commentator Hoàng Luân also cited the case of player PHT from OverPower Esports and the match-fixing cases in the LPL. Specifically in the LPL, most of the evidence was also provided by netizens on the social network Weibo, and the organizers of the highest League of Legends tournament in China also did not present any evidence.

However, commentator Hoàng Luân also suggested that the VCS Organizers could do better, especially in drafting the penalty announcement. But he firmly stated: “From Lu’s perspective, if asked whether the VCS Organizers accepted money for match-fixing, the answer is no.”

From commentator Hoàng Luân’s remarks, it is likely that in the coming days, the VCS Organizers will have further announcements following the pressure from the VCS community. But more importantly, the neutral attitude of the fans is crucial to avoid negatively impacting all parties involved.
