Coach KkOma’s Remarks on T1’s Roster Seem to Be Self-Destructive
Recently, at the Media Day of LCK in preparation for the 2025 Regular Seasons, Coach KkOma made his first comments about the T1 – Gumayusi – Smash drama since his previous remarks about “data collection.” Notably, the renowned coach’s statements came at a time when the CEO of T1 received a barrage of criticism after a team representative confirmed that his comments regarding Zeus were purely personal, severely damaging the CEO’s credibility.

Specifically, Coach KkOma stated: “I think the most important thing among them is ‘performance.’ Personally, I believe that instead of calling it ‘competing for the starting position,’ we are all part of the same team. The season is also very long. Therefore, I think we need to pay attention to performance.”

However, this seems to be somewhat self-destructive and inadvertently supports the previous statement from the T1 CEO. Specifically, everyone can clearly see that Smash’s performance at the LCK Cup 2025 was below expectations, if not poor. Yet, despite this, T1’s management still chose Smash for the 2025 Regular Seasons. Joe Marsh himself confirmed that he had to “convince and argue to get Gumayusi into the starting lineup for the 2025 Regular Seasons.”
Thus, it can be understood that the choice of players based on “performance” is merely a statement from Coach KkOma while the team is doing completely the opposite. Because when a player is neither scrimming nor competing, it is impossible to have the “performance” that Coach KkOma mentioned.

On the contrary, if a marksman has performed poorly at the LCK Cup 2025 and is still chosen, then the “performance” that Coach KkOma refers to becomes contradictory.
T1 May Face More “Storms”
Clearly, Coach KkOma’s statements can be said to merely serve as a “cover-up.” At this point, only the matches, the roster chosen, and the results will truly engage the audience. And soon, T1 will have to prove that they are genuinely heading in the right direction instead of sinking into a sea of drama like they are currently.
