Coach KkOma Officially Addresses the T1 Drama
After a smooth 2-0 victory against DNF recently, T1 officially wrapped up the first phase of the Regular Seasons 2025 Round 1-2 with a record of 5 wins – 4 losses. This is not a bad result considering T1 has faced many upheavals both in and out of matches since the beginning of the season, still securing them a spot in the top 6 to continue competing for a spot at MSI 2025. However, T1’s upper management, specifically Coach KkOma, has taken steps to accept responsibility for the drama surrounding the team.
Specifically, in the post-match interview, Coach KkOma candidly admitted: “Since the beginning of the first phase, I have been quite impatient in my role as coach. From now on, I will be calmer to help the team improve its performance.”

The Community is Surprised but Hopes T1 is Fully Stabilized
This statement from the renowned coach can be seen as concluding the stormy days of T1, starting from the internal scandal related to the unsmooth relationship between the coach and the players, especially AD Carry Gumayusi. Fans have witnessed many moments of T1 playing disconnectedly and lacking confidence – a condition that only appeared when Faker was absent or when his performance dipped. The decision to have Smash, the young AD Carry recently promoted to the main roster, replace Gumayusi in some matches has also sparked much controversy.

While Smash has potential, he has yet to demonstrate stability, whereas Gumayusi has been heavily impacted in terms of performance and competitive spirit due to these changes. The main cause is believed to stem from internal pressure and the coach KkOma’s inadequate management practices. The unclear objectives in rotating players during the early season has left viewers feeling that T1 is lacking a clear strategic and personnel direction.
Although the victory against DNF wasn’t perfect, it also shows that T1 is gradually stabilizing. Coach KkOma also affirmed that the team will prepare more thoroughly for the upcoming phase and not let impatience affect their professional decisions: “I believe if the team remains calm and improves coordination, we will perform better in future matches.”

T1 will kick off the second phase with a spotlight match against their long-time rival KT Rolster at the LCK Home Ground in Suwon on May 4. This is also an opportunity for them to avenge their loss at home last season, especially since KT has been the most disappointing team among the top 5 in the LCK in recent years.
