Coach KkOma Unexpectedly Leaves T1
After a week of intense competition, First Stand 2026 has concluded with the final victory going to BLG. Following this tournament, the League of Legends community will have a break before welcoming back the official LCK Regular Seasons 2026. However, even during this break, T1 knows how to keep the community buzzing as they recently announced that Coach KkOma will be stepping down from his role with the reigning World Championship team.

This is indeed surprising news, especially when the 2026 season has only just begun and T1’s performance in the LCK Cup 2026 has been “acceptable enough.” According to T1’s announcement, Coach KkOma is leaving for “personal reasons,” and the team will now be led by Coach Tom with support from Coach Mata.
However, there is another perspective suggesting that while Coach KkOma held the title of head coach, the entire drafting process was actually managed by Tom and Mata. Even in behind-the-scenes clips from T1, it is evident that Coach KkOma played more of a motivational role than a technical contributor. Therefore, although his departure is surprising, it may not significantly impact T1.

– Hope T1 can return to their previous form like in the 2024 season and before
– There will always be differing opinions, but now that he’s gone, I still respect him
– I hope the T1 players will focus fully on the remainder of the season
T1 Expected to Experience More Changes
After a winless LCK Cup 2026 despite having a strong start, T1 has much to reflect on and improve. Certainly, in the Regular Seasons 2026, they are still viewed as championship contenders. However, the departure of Coach KkOma signals potential changes, and whether they like it or not, these changes could affect the players, though it remains to be seen if the impact will be positive or negative.
