Chovy comments on a situation as a “critical mistake” by Kanavi
It can be said that, despite being labeled a “super team,” HLE’s first official tournament in 2026 ended in an unforgettable way. Moreover, in the final match of the LCK Cup 2026 group stage, HLE concluded their journey with a 0-3 defeat. The loss of HLE could stem from many reasons, but the most important factor was that the “Orange House” players were clearly outmatched by Gen.G and made mistakes. Chovy even pointed out a “critical” play that led to HLE’s defeat in Game 1.

Accordingly, Chovy stated: “Xin Zhao was very strong at that time, and that player (Kanavi) was going to steal the Herald. However, he then decided to duel with me. This actually benefited my team.”
The match’s progression clearly demonstrated a situation that could be seen as the decisive moment of Game 1. After stealing the Herald, Kanavi intended to duel to isolate Chovy from the fight. However, Kanavi should have been the one to block Gen.G, yet he ended up forcing his teammates to face Gen.G while he couldn’t take down Chovy. Everything afterwards was a “disaster” as Zeka pushed Canyon – Ruler towards Gumayusi, allowing the Gen.G duo to take down HLE’s AD carry more quickly.

Chovy’s comments highlight HLE’s issues
Clearly, as mentioned several times before, HLE is facing many issues regarding player synergy and coordination in fights. Unfortunately, this was precisely HLE’s strength in previous seasons, which allowed them to dominate T1 in their encounters and made it difficult for Gen.G to overcome them.

Currently, HLE will have a long “break” to prepare for the LCK Regular Seasons 2026. They need to address these issues thoroughly, or they risk the “super team” label once again becoming a disappointment for fans and a subject of ridicule in the global League of Legends community.
