CFO Coach Subtly “Accuses” MVK of Unsportsmanlike Play
Currently, most tournaments are moving into the Playoffs phase of the first half of the season, which also determines the slots for MSI 2026, and the LCP region is no exception. On the afternoon of May 23 (Vietnam time), MVK faced a tense battle against CFO that went the full 5 games before the Vietnamese team secured the victory. However, according to CFO’s coach, he believes MVK engaged in some form of “cheating”.

Specifically, the incident happened at the end of the ban phase in game 4. CFO’s coach Chawy stated: “It’s unfortunate that we lost this match 2-3 today. But there was an injustice I could not accept. Coaches usually have to leave the stage and stop communicating with players when only 5 seconds remain. However, after the ban phase of game 4 ended, I stepped forward and waited about 10 seconds while the opposing coach was still talking to his players.”
Coach Chawy felt dissatisfied when he reported the issue to the referees but MVK only received a warning. According to CFO’s coach, MVK took advantage of the brief time window at the end of the ban phase to “cheat,” and he believes Riot should enforce stricter regulations on this.

International Fans Also Debate MVK’s Case
Many voices say the time was too short to definitively determine whether MVK actually benefited. It also requires careful consideration to confirm whether MVK unintentionally or deliberately “wasted time” during the ban phase. However, another segment of viewers suggests Riot should tighten the rules regarding this situation.
– Maybe MVK should be penalized by losing a ban pick, for example
– Can such a short amount of time really have any effect?
– I’m not sure if this really gave MVK any advantage or not

As for MVK, with their victory over CFO, they will advance to face TSW or GAM. Both are strong opponents, but these upcoming matches are highly anticipated, as VCS representatives have shown superiority over other regions this season.
