According to the announcement from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), as of the end of June 2022, car sales in Vietnam reached 201,840 units, growing 34% compared to the same period last year. This is an impressive growth rate in the context of rising car prices due to semiconductor shortages, soaring oil prices, and concerns about economic recession following four waves of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the near future, the Vietnamese market is predicted to have relatively large growth potential as it enters the “My Car” era. Therefore, not only must the quantity increase, but the models and quality must also meet the needs of individual consumers, which is something that car manufacturers need to pay attention to.
Understanding this market demand and to help car manufacturers and consumers understand each other better, VCCorp (VCCorp) is conducting the Car Choice Awards 2022.
Car Choice Awards 2022 – Journey to Unleash Dreams
In Vietnam, there are currently several annual car awards organized by reputable media units and automotive forums. To create an additional reference for consumers before making a car purchase decision, VCCorp (VCCorp) is implementing the Car Choice Awards to honor products that meet the needs of individual consumers, chosen by consumers themselves and experts representing different consumer groups in Vietnam.
With the criterion of product suitability for individual consumers as the primary goal, the journey of the Car Choice Awards will be a necessary ride for each person to explore their exact needs: buying a car for personal use, for family, or for other purposes.
Additionally, the Car Choice Awards also hopes to become a platform for manufacturers to listen to and understand the needs of Vietnamese consumers, thereby producing better quality, aesthetic, and technologically advanced vehicles to serve consumers. We believe that to achieve a healthy and sustainable automotive market, consumers must truly have their voices heard and freely express their evaluations, praises, and criticisms of products.
The Car Choice Awards will be held annually, divided into 4 main categories, including: ‘Personal Car’, ‘Family Car’, ‘Service Car’, and ‘Trend Car.’ Among them, ‘Trend Car’ will change annually to keep pace with market developments, global trends, and changes in the purchasing habits and behaviors of Vietnamese consumers.
This year, the Car Choice Awards 2022 will be divided into the following subcategories:
The list of vehicles competing in the Car Choice Awards 2022 includes models currently on the market, regardless of their launch date.
The awards will consist of 3 rounds:
– WeVote (from July 15, 2022, to August 15, 2022): Users nominate and vote for the 5 most suitable vehicle models according to each criterion and category.
– WeDrive (from August 16, 2022, to September 15, 2022): The Top 5 vehicle groups will undergo comparative challenges within the same reference system in a series called Fact Content. Hundreds of users across the country who are using the Top 5 vehicles will also voice their pros and cons in a series called Reader’s Corner to give readers a more realistic view of each vehicle model, thus enabling more accurate voting. Additionally, the Car Choice Awards vehicle will travel across Vietnam, rolling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to inspire, convey messages, and present the Top 5 list to real users, car playing groups, and car owners nationwide. The readers’ votes will account for 70% of the final score.
– WeCheck (from September 16, 2022, to September 31, 2022): The jury selected by the organizing committee consists of industry experts representing user communities with different needs, who also own and have experienced many vehicles over decades. They have diverse professional perspectives, community insights, media, reviewers, sales, and entrepreneurs, and will score the Top 5 vehicles to determine the remaining 30% of the score.
The vehicles with the highest scores on a scale of 100 will be honored at the gala night scheduled for October 8 in Ho Chi Minh City. This will be the first time a grand music and light performance will be presented to honor the most suitable vehicles for consumers. The awards gala will also feature the participation of Ministries, Departments, Agencies, media representatives, car manufacturers, technical and product experts, and representatives from businesses in the automotive sector.
Officially opening the voting portal for the Car Choice Awards 2022
The online voting portal https://cca.autopro.com.vn/ officially opened on July 15, 2022. To participate in voting, users can register an account using their Facebook or Google account to nominate and vote for vehicle models based on their experiences and preferences. The voting results will be displayed in real-time throughout the Car Choice Awards 2022 period.
