Caps Sets an Unbelievable Record at LEC
In the history of League of Legends, when considering the number of titles dominating both domestic and international tournaments, many fans would immediately think of Faker – the legend of the LoL scene and the only player universally recognized as the G.O.A.T in his field, a title no one dares to dispute. However, that assessment is based on the overall achievements and influence Faker has attained after a long career. In reality, when it comes to the frequency and absolute dominance in domestic competitions, Faker is still outdone by one person. None other than Caps – the Mid Laner of G2 Esports.

Recently, Caps led G2 to victory at the LEC Summer 2024 after defeating Fnatic in the grand final. This result was not unexpected for many. However, this championship also made Caps the first Mid Laner in LEC history to win 14 domestic titles after 8 years of competition. This means that Caps has only failed to claim the title at a domestic LEC event three times: in 2021, and Spring 2023.

Caps’ Domestic Achievements Surpass Even Faker’s
In comparison, Caps’ dominance in LEC is greater than that of Faker – who currently holds the record for the most LCK championships among active players. In reality, the level of competition in the LCK is certainly higher, and T1 is not an invincible team like G2 in European LoL. Furthermore, the operational scale of the LCK is vast, and in the past, it has produced many quality players each year. Therefore, when it comes to the number of domestic titles, Caps has more than Faker. But that doesn’t mean T1’s Mid Laner is lacking.

Additionally, Caps is also a long-time rival of Faker on the international stage. Therefore, whenever T1 and G2 face off, it always brings a lot of excitement to the audience. Currently, it is uncertain whether T1 will qualify for the highest international tournament in the LoL scene, but if T1 does participate, many fans will surely be looking forward to another thrilling showdown between Faker and Caps.
