Recently, publisher Riot Games announced the release of K'Sante despite promising not to design any new champions.

This year, the publisher League of Legends (LoL) Riot Games has released 4 new champions. They include: Zeri (01/20), Renata Glasc (02/12), Bel’Veth (06/09), and Nilah (07/13). The common feature of these champions lies in their complex gameplay, requiring high individual skills but can be very powerful if players master them. Additionally, the echoes from past champions like Zoe, Aphelios, Viego, Gwen, Yuumi… have left the community frustrated with the publisher due to the difficulty of LoL.

More and more, the publisher Riot Games is coming up with quite “crazy” ideas in champion design. Of course, designing a champion is not a simple task; they must be built from visuals to champion characteristics, gameplay, strategy, and synergy with teammates… Therefore, Riot promised not to release many new champions in order to help players access the game more easily.

Due to the release of too many flawed champions, the LoL community has been suffering from many shortcomings from the publisher. Yuumi is a prime example, this cat is too strong if players know how to use her, especially in high-ranked matches or professional tournaments. The duo of Yuumi – Zeri dominated the bot lane for a very long time, showcasing the “flawed” nature of both these champions. However, if Yuumi falls into the hands of a lower-skilled player, this champion becomes a burden for the team and has little impact in the laning phase.

Therefore, the move not to design new champions by Riot Games is warmly welcomed by the community. They hope the publisher will adjust and balance more power in the Summoner’s Rift. However, Riot has made countless plans until early next year. Specifically, they will release the new champion K’Sante, change items and the jungle in the pre-season phase, rework Aurelion Sol, introduce Ixtal mages, and unveil new Darkin champions. This means that from now until early next year, our publisher will launch at least 5 major events.

Thus, the global LoL community is recalling Riot’s promise: “Will stop designing new champions to balance the game.” However, Riot Games seems to be going against what they have said. After many changes, new players will be the most affected group. They have to familiarize themselves with the newly released champions while also exploring the flawed champions designed by Riot in the past.

At this moment, what the LoL community wants the most: “Hope Riot Games won’t release any more ‘200-year’ champions that have appeared in the past.” We have gone through incredibly terrible experiences when Aphelios, Zeri, Yuumi, Zoe, Viego, Gwen,… destroyed tournaments and ranked matches. Now we can only wait for K’Sante and the new projects from the publisher, which the community has likened to “making movies better than designing games” in the near future.
