A few days ago, Team BDS (BDS) became the last team to qualify for Worlds 2023 after defeating Golden Guardians (GG). Furthermore, BDS’s Top Laner Adam has made a strong impression with his confident play, ready to select unique champions. Notably, Adam used Garen twice in the match against GG.
With this victory, BDS has secured a spot in the Play-In Stage of Worlds 2023 and will face VCS representative – Team Whales (TW) today (October 11). Perhaps the victory against GG has given Adam a lot of confidence, so this player recently announced the champion he will choose for the upcoming match. This truly resembles a challenge for TW to find a way to counter Adam.
“We (BDS) will have our debut match at Worlds 2023 on October 11. Our first opponent is the second seed from the VCS region. I will definitely choose Darius in this match,” Adam revealed on social media.
Basically, the audience following the LEC tournament is quite familiar with Adam’s unique champion pool. This guy loves using Garen, Darius, Olaf, or Sett in the Top Lane instead of playing safer champions. And this special champion pool of Adam proved effective in the match against GG a few days ago.
However, announcing that he will choose Darius in the match against TW shows this player’s excessive confidence. Although rated lower, TW certainly has conducted certain research on Adam and BDS. Perhaps the counter strategies against Adam’s unique champion pool are already part of TW’s plan.
Therefore, if Adam indeed chooses Darius in the upcoming match, the VCS representative may not be challenged to the extent of losing quickly like GG. Hopefully, TW will have a reasonable strategy to perform well in the next match or at least to punish Adam’s excessive confidence at BDS.
