In recent days, since Faker’s Hall of Legends pack was launched, it has completely captured the attention of the League of Legends community worldwide. This is the first time Riot has implemented a Pass system in the entire League of Legends realm – a concept still quite unfamiliar to many players of this famous MOBA title. Additionally, along with the trailer introducing the collection in-game, Riot announced that the HoL skin system for Faker will only be available for sale until the beginning of July, and afterward, Riot has no plans to bring this line of skins back again, meaning the HoL skin collection for Faker will be a “limited edition”.

However, not all T1 fans agree with the HoL Faker skins that Riot has just released. Across various forums, both in Vietnam and internationally, many viewers have expressed their deep disappointment, largely directed at the pricing set by Riot. However, for Hane Ame – one of the hottest cosplayers in the world and also a hardcore T1 fan, she expressed her dissatisfaction with the design of the skin line: “I was expecting a skin that incorporated the personal characteristics of the player, instead of a chaotic design with no coordination but too many randomly added elements.”

Furthermore, many other prominent figures in the League of Legends community, as well as viewers, have directed their frustration towards the pricing of the collection. Even for international fans, the price remains too high. Notably, if converted to various currencies by region, players might have to spend over 12 million VND to fully own the HoL collection of Faker. The community has even boldly stated: “Riot has no intention of honoring Faker but is leveraging Faker’s fame to make money.”

The feelings of Hane Ame and many other notable figures in the League of Legends scene may also reflect the shared sentiment of many hardcore T1 fans today. The price of around 6 million VND (in Vietnam) is not necessarily too high but is also not insignificant for teenage players. And up to this point, with the ongoing debates, Riot has attracted attention to the new HoL line, but it could also have a counterproductive effect in the future.
