Riding the wave of success, Riot continued to announce a sequel to Arcane, set against the backdrop of the ongoing war between Zaun and Piltover. Additionally, Riot indicated that the new installment is expected to be released around 2022 or 2023. This has only heightened the excitement among the League of Legends community and Arcane fans in general. Everyone hopes for a cinematic universe based on League of Legends—a game famous for its large roster of champions and a rich, captivating storyline.
Recently, the League of Legends community received a surprise. Specifically, on his personal Twitter page, Seung Eun Kim—Executive Producer and Animation Director who contributed to the creation of Arcane—posted an image that seems to be a poster. Notably, this poster features several League of Legends champions like Darius, Miss Fortune, and Yasuo… Especially, the design style of the poster also evokes images from Marvel and DC comics.
For those who don’t know, Seung Eun Kim is an American-Korean animator. On his personal Twitter, he often shares images related to famous characters and cinematic works from Korea and around the world. Notably, he enjoys posting artwork depicting action scenes featuring characters like Ma Dong-seok or Bruce Lee.
If this is indeed a teaser for a film project, with the arrangement of champions in the image and the painting style, it could be a superhero team-type work. Of course, the producers of Arcane have yet to make any statement following the image’s posting. Therefore, the community continues to speculate along with excitement about another cinematic masterpiece, alongside the Arcane universe featuring League of Legends champions as the main characters.
