For gamers, the Battle Pass or Event Pass is an item that is very familiar as it appears in many games. League of Legends is no exception as Riot frequently implements Event Passes in its events. At that time, players only needed to spend a reasonable amount of RP to purchase the Event Pass but could still receive beautiful Prestige skins.

In addition to the Prestige skin rewards, the Event Pass also brings many other items to players. However, in the upcoming Wonderful Winter event, Riot has made a move to “cut” the rewards of the Battle Pass. Specifically, League of Legends players discovered that they had removed the Costume Bag reward and 625 Orange Essence. Meanwhile, replacing them with 3 types of Banners is considered an unfair exchange.

As a result, on social media and forums about League of Legends, numerous gamers have called for a boycott of the upcoming Event Pass from Riot. They believe this is the most effective way for Riot to recognize the issue and restore the original value of this item.
– I heard that Riot is reducing the rewards for the Event Pass again. If everyone keeps buying it, they will continue to do so. League of Legends is a game that means a lot to many, so they will keep doing this because many players will surely buy the Event Pass.
– It’s hard to believe we lose the Costume Bag for something that is divided into 3 parts.
– They removed the Costume Bag and 25 Mythic Essence, why is that? This is really sad.
– Removing 2 valuable rewards to replace them with some Banners. This is definitely the worst move.
– It’s best if everyone just doesn’t buy the Event Pass anymore, it’s that simple.

What’s noteworthy here is that this is not the first time Riot has “cut” the rewards of the Event Pass like this. In January 2022, Riot announced that this item only provided 25 Mythic Essence even though the previous number was 45. After receiving much criticism, Riot increased this Mythic Essence number to 50, but it only applied to the Event Passes for the World Championship (held once a year).

It should be noted that the price of the Event Pass has not changed in recent years, but Riot has found ways to reduce the rewards it offers. As a result, they have received considerable backlash from the League of Legends community recently. If the Event Pass is truly “boycotted” in the near future, Riot needs to seriously reconsider how they are developing this item.
