Allegations of Riot Intentionally “Encouraging” Game Disruption with a Change in League of Legends Season 2026

An update for League of Legends 2026 from Riot could increase game disruption

These days, alongside the transfer market, the attention of the League of Legends community is also focused on a very important factor that Riot released last weekend, which is the updates for the new season. It can be said that Riot will nearly completely change the meta of League of Legends in recent years, and the new updates will certainly come with some drawbacks. According to the community, there is one update that is being considered to “encourage game disruption.”

Riot prevents players from banning champions that teammates have already 'called'.

Specifically, one of Riot’s updates forces players to not be able to ban champions that teammates have “called” beforehand. For example, if there is just one player in the team who ticks Yasuo, according to Riot’s update, other players on the same team as that player will not be able to select this champion and accept that this Yasuo can appear in multiple roles such as Marksman, Top Lane, or even Support, Jungle, not just Mid Lane.

The community is concerned that this will contribute to promoting game disruption.

But the issue here is: many players never take a game seriously, even if it’s a ranked mode. Thus, there will be other players who suffer if the player has the intention of disrupting the game with inappropriate bans. In the past, when seeing a Support role player selecting Yasuo, one could immediately ban this champion. But now this is impossible.

Riot has not really addressed the “game disruption” issue in League of Legends

While continuously emphasizing the handling of game disruption and toxicity in League of Legends, in reality, Riot has not taken any decisive actions, if not somewhat “turning a blind eye”. With the upcoming updates, many players are concerned that this issue will not only not cease but will grow stronger, especially when teammates can no longer prevent them from making “terrible” champion selections.
