As we know, in League of Legends, there are many incredibly powerful items capable of completely turning the tide of battle. Over time and through Riot’s adjustments, these items have evolved. They can become stronger or weaker, but they all play a certain role. Only in some cases do items prove to be too “overpowered” compared to the rest, forcing Riot to take drastic measures for them to be forgotten or completely removed from Summoner’s Rift.

However, there are still quite a few items that are truly “overpowered”, to the extent that they appear frequently from five champions or more in a League of Legends match. Notably, there is one item that has always been considered a “game-changer”, capable of making team fights unpredictable, which is the Stasis Stopwatch – an item that costs only 800 gold but can sometimes lead to a winning team’s complete downfall. The function of this item allows the owner to become invulnerable, unaffected by any attacks, but also puts them in a stationary state for 2.5 seconds. In reality, this is a time frame for a player to escape an opponent’s attack, and they can even “turn the tide” if they time it perfectly.

Recently, Riot has officially removed this item starting in 2024. Thus, after more than six years since its first introduction in patch 7.22, Stasis Stopwatch has disappeared. This will force teams to find other ways to implement their gameplay, especially in crucial team fight moments. Because without the Stopwatch, each player will no longer have this valuable “insurance”.

At various Worlds or MSI tournaments, this item has left many viewers astonished by its influence. In fact, many viewers passionately urged Riot to quickly adjust or completely remove the item to prevent matches from being “fragmented”. It wasn’t until now that Riot has truly made a decisive move regarding this item.
