Alongside the exciting new mechanics and updates for League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics, Riot has introduced a completely new game mode called Arena in the latter half of 2023. This gameplay mode is a 2v2v2v2 format and features the Tech Fragments from TFT. Additionally, this mode serves to promote the new skin line Tinh Võ Sư. Among them, Samira is the latest champion to join the roster with the Ultimate skin.

Although it is merely an entertainment mode created to promote skins, Arena has garnered significant attention from both gamers and famous KOLs and players. Even Faker himself has played quite a few matches in this mode while recovering from injury. It can be said that Arena has brought a fresh breeze during a time when the League of Legends community is still watching domestic tournament matches while TFT has yet to receive a mid-season update.

And even in a casual play setting, players are looking for guides and tips to win in this new mode. Notably, some champions are showing overwhelming strength in Arena and are highly favored. According to statistics from the specialized site Blitz.gg, after several days of launch, Taric is the only champion currently with an average win rate above 40%, which is also the highest win rate in Riot’s new game mode.

The strength of the Guardian is the perfect partner for many champions, from powerful mid-lane mages to muscular Fighters or ADCs that require quick movement speed. Taric can also provide crowd control, allowing damage champions (such as Jax or Vayne) to easily dive into the enemy formation and unleash damage.

Taric is also a tank champion with shielding, healing abilities for teammates, and provides damage immunity with his Radiant Cosmic ability. In summary, Taric is considered the perfect Support champion in the current Arena mode as the benefits he provides are overwhelmingly superior. Of course, for this reason, Taric is also one of the three most banned champions in Arena currently, alongside two other “powerful” picks, Shaco and Heimerdinger.
