On the evening of January 5th (Vietnam time), Riot released three new skin lines at once. These skins will follow the themes of Porcelain, Fireworks (for the Lunar New Year), and Pink Crystal. Among these three skin lines, the Fireworks theme will also appear in League of Legends: Wild Rift. As for the Pink Crystal, this will be a new trio of skins continuing the Pink Crystal skin line that was released around Valentine’s Day in early 2021. Since this skin line debuted during Valentine’s Day, it is very likely that this new trio of skins will also debut around the same timeframe, that is, about mid-February 2022.

Regarding the Fireworks skin line, this is definitely a skin line that will launch around the upcoming Lunar New Year 2022. The reason is that right from the splash art of the champions, it is clear that Riot designed based on familiar images from the Lunar New Year in Asian countries, especially China and Vietnam, such as lion dancing, fireworks, and red envelopes for the New Year… The dominant color of the skin line is red, which also evokes the upcoming traditional New Year.

For the Porcelain skin line, it is clear that Riot drew inspiration from the famous Thanh Hoa porcelain – the quintessence of Chinese porcelain art. Right from the splash art, you can see architectural designs and patterns reminiscent of the country of over a billion people. Not to mention familiar depictions like lions, jade rabbits… Especially in the Porcelain skin group, Lux continues to prove her status as Riot’s “favorite” as she adds another premium skin to her “collection,” alongside her Premium Battle Academy skin.

For those who don’t know, Lux began to be dubbed “Riot’s favorite” when she became the champion who “gets a skin every year” and also possesses the only Ultimate skin priced at 999 RP – Lux Elementalist. And of course, the League of Legends community can’t help but feel “frustrated” at Riot continuing to prove itself as Lux’s “ultimate fan.” Perhaps many still remember that just in the Cosmic skin line alone, Lux has two skins with different names, but in terms of design, they almost only… change the main color of the skin and the expression of the eyes.

This series of skins is currently only available on the PBE test server, and Riot will likely only officially release them close to the upcoming Lunar New Year 2022.
