A Necessary Factor for Gumayusi to Stay at T1
After a season that can be deemed successful for Gumayusi personally, as he is the reigning World Champion, has achieved three consecutive championship titles, and is also the FMVP, the main concern of the community is that his contract with T1 will expire in a few days. Amidst countless discussions and various factors proposed by the audience regarding the contract of the 2002-born AD Carry, the right to protection seems to be the most important factor at this moment.

Throughout the 2025 season, especially after Gumayusi had to sit on the bench for Smash during the LCK Cup and the early stages of Rounds 1-2 of the LCK Regular Seasons, the 2002-born AD Carry of T1 has continuously faced numerous criticisms, receiving negative impacts both online (comments, posts…) and offline (sending protest trucks, funeral flowers…). Even, some of Gumayusi’s fans found evidence showing that he was threatened by the anti-fan group T1Gall regarding his life and the privacy of his family.

However, contrary to common sense, T1 has not taken any action to protect their player. All they have done is a brief statement from COO Josh earlier this year, after T1 secured their spot at MSI 2025. But clearly, the situation was not resolved afterward. In fact, the T1Gall group even protested on the anniversary of Faker’s 1000th match in the LCK.
It wasn’t until T1 was preparing to head to China for the 2025 World Championship that the T1Gall group continued to send protest information to the team’s headquarters, targeting the upper management of T1 as well as directly at Gumayusi. Gumayusi’s family is also aware of the incident, and it is very likely that this is something the player himself is concerned about as well.

T1 No Longer Holds Complete Control in the Deal with Gumayusi
The 2002-born AD Carry has stated multiple times that he wants to stay with T1 and Faker. But he must also recognize what he has gone through in 2025. Of course, Gumayusi has to choose what is best for him, and T1 understands this better than anyone else.
