T1 is set to bolster their roster
The T1 roster heading to the 2024 World Championship will still include familiar names, such as Faker and the quartet of Zeus – Oner – Gumayusi – Keria. While some other teams will have actual substitutes who can step onto the stage, T1 has been one of the few teams in many international seasons that only competes with a single lineup. In fact, even when Faker just recovered from his injury in Summer 2023, T1 did not bring any quality names to substitute. However, this may change at the 2024 World Championship as there are rumors that Rekkles – the former ADC star of the LEC will follow T1 back to Europe for this tournament.

Specifically, in the PickEms – a prediction program accompanying major League of Legends tournaments (this time for the 2024 World Championship), Rekkles has been updated as a substitute for T1. Additionally, some insiders from the LEC have reported that Rekkles will come to the World Championship in the role of T1’s substitute, and this information was revealed by Riot. In fact, one of the Western media posts was retweeted by T1’s CEO – Joe Marsh, without any objections.

Rekkles could bring many surprises for T1
In the context where Faker has not fully recovered from his injury, Rekkles’ presence (if any) as a substitute could bring many exciting possibilities. Rekkles has played in the Support position since joining T1, and who knows, in a not-so-critical match for T1, Rekkles might step in as Support, allowing Keria to move up to the Mid Lane. Those who have followed T1 for a long time know that Keria is quite versatile, and during T1’s stellar period in 2022, he revealed his desire to play as a midlaner.

Moreover, Rekkles is already very familiar with the European environment, as well as the atmosphere of the World Championship. Therefore, T1 will not need to spend time getting this former LEC superstar adjusted to the competitive rhythm. If this information is true, Rekkles could be a high-quality secret weapon for T1. For Rekkles himself, if he can win the championship with T1, he will be the first foreign player in LCK history to claim a title at a World Championship.
