VKE May Struggle in the Losers Bracket of Worlds 2024
In their opening match at Worlds 2024, Vikings Esports faced significant challenges against the third seed from LEC – MAD Lions KOI – a name that is currently far beyond the level of VCS teams. Indeed, it was no surprise when VKE was overwhelmingly defeated by MAD and had to accept their place in the losers bracket of their group at this year’s Worlds.
However, VKE’s chances are not entirely over yet, as in the subsequent match, PaiN Gaming was also defeated by PSG Talon. Therefore, VKE’s opponent will be a team from the wildcards, and this presents the last opportunity for SofM’s squad at Worlds 2024.

Nevertheless, after the match between PNG and PSG, VKE’s chances of advancing in the losers bracket no longer seem as high as before. PNG has clearly shown significant improvement compared to a team emerging from the wildcards region. Still, SofM and his team must give it their all. This is SofM’s first Worlds as a coach and also the first Worlds in a long time without Kati wearing the familiar GAM Esports colors. No one in the VKE squad wants Worlds 2024 to end quickly like this.

VCS Fans Are Also Skeptical About VKE’s Future at Worlds 2024
While VKE struggles at Worlds 2024, fans in VCS also express skepticism even though VKE’s opponent in the losers bracket is just a PNG team from the CBLOL wildcards region. In this rare occasion for this representative to return to an international tournament of the League of Legends scene, PNG is performing exceptionally well. Therefore, discussions in the Vietnamese League of Legends community about VKE’s chances of advancing are inevitable.

However, what VKE needs most from the fans right now is encouragement and trust. Moreover, PNG is not MAD or PSG, and they have shown impatience and a lack of experience even when holding an advantage. This will be a factor for VKE to exploit, especially since VCS teams traditionally play at 200% effort whenever they are pushed to the wall.
