Former Player Speaks Out to T1
Having faced each other over the years, the upcoming match in the semifinals of Worlds 2024 is perhaps the most important for both Gen.G and T1. One side is just two matches away from potentially claiming their first world championship title in the team’s history. The other team also has only two matches left to become the greatest collective in League of Legends history. Both have reasons to be determined, making the clash even more intense.

To heat up the tense atmosphere of the match, recently, T1’s “former player” and current Gen.G coach – Mata shared his thoughts regarding his old team and the upcoming match: “Perhaps they (T1) should hope that we were eliminated in the previous match. After all, we’ve fought each other many times and Gen.G has completely won those encounters. But all previous victories mean nothing when we can take them down in a match at Worlds like this.”

Mata is the former Support of SKT T1/T1 from years ago. However, during his time with SKT T1, the team was no longer in a dominant position and suffered two painful defeats against G2 Esports at MSI 2019 and Worlds the following year.
The T1 – Gen.G Match Will Be the Most Important Game of the Season for Both Teams
The significance of the match is undeniable, and both T1 and Gen.G understand what they stand to gain or lose with a victory or defeat. Furthermore, the threshold of history is ahead, posing a psychological challenge. The players from both teams are experienced, but for Gen.G’s roster, except for Canyon and Chovy, this will be their first time reaching the semifinals of a Worlds tournament.

In a match like this, it is hard to make any predictions. Any mistake, no matter how small, could be costly, and players will have to give their all if they want to seize the ultimate victory. According to community predictions, this could also be the early finals of Worlds 2024, as the winning team will have a very bright chance of becoming the final champion.
