Former VCS Star’s Unexpected Move
For the League of Legends community in Vietnam, perhaps no one can forget the “32 players scandal” that occurred in mid-2024, despite how many months have passed. The incident not only shocked VCS viewers due to the large number of individuals involved, but also included top-tier players in the Vietnamese League of Legends scene. The most famous and anticipated among them were the Mid Lane – Jungle duo of Team Whales: Gloryy and BeanJ. Before the scandal broke, both were players for the Vietnamese League of Legends team preparing to attend the ASIAD.

After a long period of silence since the incident, on the evening of October 22, Gloryy unexpectedly made a new move. Specifically, the former TW star shared a caption: “I hope I will get a chance, I really miss everyone.” However, as of now, the duration of the suspension for the player once dubbed the “Chovy of Vietnam” is still not even half a year. And the remaining time is indeed quite long.

The VCS Community Hasn’t Moved On
However, in response to Gloryy’s tone of regret, many viewers expressed their harsh disapproval when his post was shared. Perhaps everyone understands that in sports, dishonesty is something that can never be accepted by the audience. Gloryy’s actions are seen as deceitful, undermining the trust of the fans. If he were a player from a lower tier, perhaps not many would pay attention. But here, he is regarded as the new generation of talented Mid Lane players, even preparing to represent the country at the ASIAD Hangzhou.

In reality, after serving his suspension, it may be difficult for Gloryy to catch up with the meta to make a comeback. Furthermore, if the VCS truly undergoes a complete overhaul next year, even if he returns and is ready to compete, it remains unclear which team would recruit the former star of the VCS, especially since the current competitive scene is on a far more significant level than before.
