These two players were the weakest points for Gen.G in the match against T1
Just over a day after the match, it’s no surprise that the Semifinal of Worlds 2024 between Gen.G and T1 is still being hotly discussed in various League of Legends communities. Moreover, this is a match that can be considered historic for the League of Legends scene, featuring two teams regarded as the strongest in this year’s tournament. However, on a day when both teams played with the highest determination, two players showed that they did not deserve to win this match.

First is Peyz, the AD carry who was once regarded by many Gen.G fans as the best AD currently but performed extremely disappointingly. In all four games, perhaps only in game 2, when T1 lost and Peyz was given every opportunity by his teammates, did he manage to show himself. Otherwise, Peyz could not compete with Gumayusi. Even though Peyz’s KDA reached 9.0, that was due to both teams having very few kills in all four games.

The other player is none other than Chovy. At this point, it may not be an exaggeration to say that Chovy is still just a good player, not a superstar or the main character in big matches. The match against T1 was marked by two moments from Chovy that were both forgettable and puzzling. First, there was the moment Chovy was directly engaged by Faker at the Ancient Ruins and was killed. The other moment was while his teammates were fighting, and both Lehends and Peyz had been taken down, Chovy was busy… farming minions. But after finishing his “farming,” with most of his teammates down, instead of returning to defend, Chovy intended to rush in to take down Zeus. As a result, he was caught by Keria and ended Gen.G’s hopes.

Gen.G Pays the Price, Primarily for ‘Self-Destruction’
T1 played excellently, but perhaps the Gen.G players also need to blame themselves. They did not play better than T1 in this match and made many mistakes, some of which had appeared since their match against FlyQuest. Especially when T1’s stars knew how to step up, Gen.G’s expensive roster that once dominated the LCK and MSI could not do the same.

Gen.G continues to leave empty-handed at the Worlds 2024, at a time when everyone thought they would easily progress since their opponent was the team that had lost to Gen.G 11 times in a row. But the reality has been harsh, and Chovy along with his teammates can only regret now.
