Earlier, on the afternoon of November 11 (Pacific Time), TFT Set 13 will appear on the PBE server for players to experience early and provide feedback to Riot Games. Riot Faces Criticism for Missing a Key Character in TFT Set 13
However, when all the official information for TFT Set 13 was announced, Riot Games faced quite a bit of backlash. The reason being that it lacks a very important character from the Arcane series named Viktor. TFT Set 13 will include 60 champions from 14 tribes and 13 systems, but Viktor is completely absent. As a result, as soon as the news about the new season was released, fans of Viktor and the Arcane series did not hold back in their criticism of Riot.

Indeed, if one follows the Arcane series from the first season, they would know that Viktor plays a very important role. This character is a partner to Jayce and once prevented him from committing suicide after a failed experiment. Later, Viktor and Jayce together explored and developed Hextech technology, which is incredibly valuable and helped Piltover achieve unprecedented growth, as depicted in the series. Therefore, when Riot did not include Viktor in TFT Set 13, despite its Arcane theme, it is understandable that they faced backlash.

Of course, with Riot Games having finalized the list of champions appearing in TFT Set 13, the likelihood of them adding Viktor in the coming days is almost impossible. It could disrupt the balance that Riot Games has established and create negative effects for TFT Set 13 in the future. Nonetheless, this also serves as a valuable lesson for Riot, and hopefully, they will not repeat the mistake of overlooking important characters that are tied to the season’s theme in the future.
