Faker Surprises with Confident Remarks Towards Gen.G

After the victory against DK, Faker made statements regarding Gen.G - another familiar opponent of T1.

Faker Shares Insights About Gen.G

Perhaps no one expected that against a fluctuating DK, T1 would have to fight for as many as 5 games to secure a win, and one of the factors leading to this result was indeed the mistakes made by the opponent. But a win is a win, and T1 has moved on to the playoffs of LCK 2025. Their next opponent will be Gen.G or HLE – two teams that have already advanced to Round 2, waiting ahead. After the match against DK, Faker also shared his thoughts about Gen.G – a team with which they have a long history.

Specifically, Faker stated: “Of course, our goal is to win the championship, so we must beat all of them (both Gen.G and HLE). But from my observations in previous years, Gen.G probably won’t choose us, and I think T1 might have to face HLE.”

Additionally, Faker acknowledged that DK performed beyond his own expectations and (perhaps) those of other T1 members. However, despite the challenges, Faker was still satisfied that T1 achieved the desired results to progress through the winners’ bracket in this year’s LCK playoffs.

Right in the match against DK, T1 showed many different extremes at the same time. They could have an advantage and still snowball effectively, but they could also make mistakes right after executing a perfectly coordinated macro play. It feels like the match against DK was an opportunity for T1 to both strive for victory and experiment with strategies. For instance, the Akali pick seemed risky but ended up allowing Faker to completely dominate ShowMaker. Or Keria’s effective use of Blitzcrank in the decisive game.

T1 needs to regain maximum focus for every match.

However, opponents like Gen.G and HLE are stronger and more focused than DK. In those matches, T1 needs to perform their best if they still aim for the domestic title as well as a spot in the upcoming 2025 World Championship.
