Gunner Composition in TFT Season 13
While not necessarily a weak composition, the Gunner setup is facing significant operational issues in TFT Season 13. Basically, the effect of this trait requires champions to attack continuously with a high attack speed to optimize damage. However, the Gunner champions themselves do not have skills to increase their attack speed, making it difficult to utilize this effect effectively. This causes the Gunner composition to heavily rely on Guinsoo’s Rageblade and a strong enough frontline to deal effective damage.

In patch 14.24, Riot has somewhat addressed this issue by increasing the base attack speed of the key champion for this trait – Tristana. Additionally, the bonus Attack Damage at the 4 Gunner threshold has also been increased, allowing Tristana more opportunities to stack her passive. Combined with the nerf to the Surveillance trait, the Gunner composition, along with Tristana, will be able to deal much more effective damage in the upcoming patch.
Automaton Composition in TFT Season 13
In the previous patch, the Automaton trait was often underutilized by players, typically only reaching a 2 champion threshold. The reason was that the defensive or damage stats provided by this trait were not substantial, and the Automaton champions did not synergize well together. However, things will look very different in patch 14.24 as Riot has significantly buffed this trait from effects to the strength of the champions.

Specifically, the defensive stats at the 4 champion threshold have been increased from 50 to 60, and damage has jumped from 350 to 400. Additionally, Nocturne and Blitzcrank have received extremely beneficial adjustments that enhance their damage and tanking capabilities significantly. It is likely that Riot Games aims for the Automaton composition to focus on rerolling 2-3 cost champions to gain a substantial advantage in the mid-game, setting up a snowball effect towards victory.
Conqueror Composition in TFT Season 13
Designed as an upgraded version of the Cake trait from Season 12, the Conqueror composition has proven to be relatively underwhelming in the first iteration of TFT Season 13. This is due to the fact that the champions of this trait at the 1-2 cost level are not particularly strong and struggle to accumulate stacks early on. Furthermore, reaching 4 or 6 Conquerors does not provide much benefit as players have found more effective strategies such as rerolling and snowballing the game with superior champion levels. Not to mention, Ambessa also lacked significant power in patch 14.23, preventing the Conqueror trait from being truly dominant in the late game.

In the current patch 14.24, this trait has been positively adjusted as Riot has significantly increased the Attack Damage and Ability Power that Conqueror provides. Moreover, Ambessa has also received crucial buffs such as reduced maximum energy and increased skill damage. This enhances the Conqueror trait’s ability to sweep through enemy compositions much better, providing a resource advantage for players.
