The “Super Team” of the League of Legends scene is Facing Challenges
During the end-of-season transfer window for 2024, Invictus Gaming made a surprising strong investment and built a roster with superstar players. However, after the “super team” was formed, insider TheShy revealed some highly unfavorable information regarding this team.

Firstly, TheShy revealed that IG might fail early in the Demacia Cup, as even up until now, the members have not had any practice sessions together despite the official roster being announced about a week ago. The reason given is due to each player’s schedule and, more importantly, they need to move to a different facility, so the preparation process is not yet complete.

Additionally, TheShy mentioned that his current livestream environment has not been adequately prepared. While at Weibo Gaming, TheShy had his own streaming room, this has not been established at IG. In fact, every time TheShy goes live, he is disturbed by background noise from teammates’ communication, making him feel uncomfortable.
Is the “Super Team” of the LPL and League of Legends Effective?
Both TheShy and players like GALA, Meiko… certainly have very high salaries. IG’s years of “eco” have allowed them to build a “star-studded” roster this year. However, the effectiveness remains questionable as these players have shown inconsistent performances. When they are at their peak, they can compete for the World Championship title, but when they slump, they can hardly be managed.

IG is clearly taking an all-in gamble with their current roster. This could provide LPL with at least one strong team to compete in the future, but it is also extremely risky. If this IG lineup cannot succeed, it is highly likely that this will be the first and last season for this team, especially in the current challenging landscape of League of Legends.
