LCK fans relentlessly jab at Faker and the superstars appearing in the nomination list for the LCK Awards 2024
As we know, a few days ago, LCK announced the categories for the LCK Awards 2024. This can be considered one of the most variable years for League of Legends in Korea, especially since the champions of the two domestic leagues, LCK, are two different teams.

Moreover, while Gen.G celebrated their first MSI title in the trophy room, T1 made a stunning “sprint” to become the first team in League of Legends history to successfully defend their Worlds championship twice. Additionally, Faker had a “remarkable resurgence,” playing a crucial role in helping T1 secure victory in the decisive finals.

However, when Faker, along with Chovy, Peanut, and Oner, appeared in the nomination list for “Best Player of 2024” at the LCK Awards, many fans couldn’t help but jab at them. This is because, after the conclusion of Worlds 2024, these players have been some of the highest-ranked players in Teamfight Tactics within LCK. They hardly touched League of Legends for a significant amount of time.

– “The TFT team nominated for the LCK Awards”
– “Oh, all the players from the Korean TFT team are present. Oner, Peanut, Chovy, Faker. Alright, let’s create a special trait to honor them”
– “If looking at the whole year, it would be Chovy. Faker was good in Spring and Worlds but underperformed in MSI and Summer”
– “Can’t wait for this”
Faker Faces Tough Competition for the Title
Among the 4 names, it will be difficult to point out who is the most promising player, as each has their superstar moments. However, if the LCK continues to base its decision on the biggest tournament of the year, Worlds, the title is unlikely to escape Faker’s grasp. His resurgence was the most crucial factor that helped T1 win the Worlds 2024 championship. Faker himself was the FMVP of the match.

Of course, as with every year, whoever wins the award will leave behind a lot of controversies. And with the recent drama, the potential for disputes to arise is very high. Especially since these players come from teams that currently have some of the largest fanbases in the League of Legends world.
