Crazyguy and a Meaningful VCT Season

When it comes to successful Vietnamese players competing on the international VALORANT stage, the name Ngô “Crazyguy” Công Anh is surely the first to be mentioned by the gaming community. Joining RRQ and competing at VCT Pacific, the player has not only become a pride for Vietnamese fans but also demonstrated steadily improving skill each season.

Although RRQ was eliminated early and missed the chance to compete live on home soil at the VCT Pacific Stage 1 Finals: Ho Chi Minh, Crazyguy still decided to visit Vietnam with his teammates as a guest. His presence quickly excited the Vietnamese VALORANT community, especially as it was a rare opportunity for local fans to meet him on an international stage right in Ho Chi Minh City.

On Friday noon (May 15), RRQ members officially landed in Ho Chi Minh City and later held a small fan meet. The atmosphere was very lively as many fans continuously requested photos, autographs, and chatted with the players. It was clear that despite not competing, RRQ still received a lot of love from the community thanks to their determined performances throughout the season.

Sharing with us, Crazyguy said he was truly surprised by the scale and atmosphere that the VCT Pacific Stage 1 Finals brought to Vietnam. According to him, comparing to many major stages before or even the most recent event he participated in Korea, Vietnam is by no means inferior and even more impressive in some aspects.

The player was especially impressed by the lighting system and the opening intro, which was richly infused with Vietnamese cultural elements while maintaining the modern feel of an international esports event. Crazyguy believes these details helped foreign audiences gain more appreciation and a clearer sense of Vietnamese identity.

Not only that, what delighted the RRQ player was also the civility of the fan community. According to Crazyguy, no matter which team they support, Vietnamese fans maintain passionate yet respectful spirit, creating a very positive atmosphere throughout the tournament.

Besides professional stories, RRQ members also took time to explore Vietnamese cuisine upon arriving in Ho Chi Minh City. The dish that the team loved the most was Bún Bò Huế. Crazyguy revealed that the RRQ players even claimed it was the “best soup they had ever tried.”

Will RRQ Come Back Stronger Than Ever?

When asked about the VCT Pacific Stage 1 landscape, Crazyguy also made some interesting predictions. He said Paper Rex is the favorite for the championship thanks to their consistent form and signature dynamic playstyle. The player believes PRX will take the title in this year’s Stage 1.

Regarding RRQ, the Vietnamese player said the team is currently in a break period after a tough series of matches. However, this does not mean RRQ is completely resting. According to Crazyguy, the team is actively studying and preparing for the new meta before Stage 2 begins.

Notably, when asked if RRQ feels pressured by individuals performing explosively in Stage 1, Crazyguy was very confident. He affirmed that RRQ also has their own “superstars” and the team is not “anti” or afraid of any name.

“For RRQ, there is no team that can’t be beaten,” Crazyguy shared determinedly. This clearly shows RRQ still has great ambitions for the remainder of the season.

Concluding the conversation, the Vietnamese player also sent a message to young people pursuing professional Esports careers. According to Crazyguy, 2027 will be a period of many changes as VALORANT’s tournament system continues to be adjusted, opening more opportunities for tier 2 and tier 3 regions to develop stronger.

Therefore, he hopes that those who are truly passionate will continue to work hard, train diligently, and constantly seek chances to showcase themselves. According to Crazyguy, Vietnamese Esports still has great potential to produce more players capable of reaching the international stage in the future.
