Faker Shares the Reason Behind the “Legendary Photo”
Almost 10 years ago, when SKT T1 entered the finals of Worlds 2017, they were considered a much stronger contender for the championship compared to Samsung Galaxy. This was because on their journey, SKT T1 had overcome tough opponents like C9 and Misfit Gaming, and especially RNG. However, SKT T1 fell short with a critical hit from Ruler and Faker. After that, Faker broke down in tears right on stage, and this photo became legendary, even overshadowing the victory of SSG.
Explaining this heartbreaking image, recently, Faker revealed the truth behind his emotions at that time: “The defeat was truly unacceptable. I didn’t feel like the opponents played exceptionally well or dominated. But we lost 0-3 in a very weak manner. That’s why I felt so crushed and will never forget that defeat.”
