Gen.G Stars Add More Painful Milestones
Perhaps before the match against G2 began, no one could have imagined that the next 24 hours would be filled with discussions about the incredible defeat of the reigning LCK champions. The loss for Gen.G is certainly hard to accept, as this was considered one of the “easier” tournaments for them this year. Not to mention, Gen.G’s group was not too difficult as LEC has been a “favorable” opponent for top LCK teams for many years.
However, in the end, Gen.G lost, and Kiin – Ruler had to add more sad milestones to their records.

First is Ruler, who became the first player in LCK to lose to G2 twice with the same score of 0-3. The first time, it was also Ruler in the Gen.G jersey, but at that time, the team’s lineup was not as elite as it is now. And recently, Ruler lost to G2 again. It can be said that the “King of Europe” truly brings an unpleasant “curse” to Gen.G’s AD Carry, even though he is always rated higher than his opponents in every battlefield.
The other player is Kiin, who, counting the recent loss to G2, has lost to four opponents from four Major regions in his League of Legends career, including JDG (LPL), C9 (LCS), G2 (LEC), and T1 (LCK). It can be said that this is a career milestone that no player hopes for.

But Gen.G Players Must Blame Themselves
In reality, Gen.G had many opportunities and were themselves rated higher. All Gen.G needed to do was to play with the form that helped them win the LCK Cup 2026 and then dominate in the First Stand 2026. The only issue is that Gen.G could not achieve this, and as a result, their defeat became an inevitable part of the game.
