Gen.G wins against DK but it seems key players are facing issues
Perhaps when choosing DK as an opponent – a name that has been quite inconsistent and has also faced many difficulties to overcome DRX, Gen.G did not think too much about the possibility that this team could pose challenges for them. In fact, throughout the BO5 match, there were many moments where Gen.G allowed DK to secure kills but still remained in control. However, the 3-1 victory cannot deny that two players, Kiin and Ruler from Gen.G, have not yet reached their peak performance.

Accordingly, in all four matches, only in the game using Zaheen did Kiin really stand out and have a significant impact on the overall result of the match. Even in the game using Rek’Sai, he only really made his presence felt during a TP situation to ambush Smash and push the turret to minimize the effectiveness of the Baron buff on DK’s side. Additionally, Kiin clearly had a below-par performance compared to his usual level.

Meanwhile, Ruler during the match against DK also had numerous moments where he seemed to be outclassed by Smash. However, in critical moments, Gen.G’s AD Carry still proved his worth. Overall, when assessing Kiin and Ruler as underperforming, they might only be performing worse than their usual selves. But in a star-studded team like Gen.G, where perfect performances are expected, one or two individuals underperforming stand out too much, especially against opponents of decent caliber like DK.

Fans are not too surprised but Gen.G needs to find themselves again
In reality, after each long break, Gen.G needs a few matches to regain their spirit, which is no longer unfamiliar. However, it is highly likely that Gen.G’s next opponent in the winners’ finals will be T1 – a team that is currently performing very well. And Gen.G needs to rally their spirits and regain their form because T1 will certainly not make it easy for Gen.G to make mistakes and still win as they did in the recent match against DK.
