The “Survival Week” for both groups at LCK Cup 2026
Perhaps as the LCK Cup 2026 is about to begin, not many expected that both groups could end up tied and have to wait until the “Super Week” to determine rankings as well as win-loss records. The sudden decline of a “star-studded” team still trying to find their voice like HLE, or the astonishing perfection of Gen.G… are the factors that make the final week incredibly exciting, even unpredictable.

Among the teams in the Elder group, although HLE did not perform well in the first week, and their last opponent in the group stage is Gen.G, they are actually the least concerned team. A win against Gen.G (in the case that the Elder group is the losing group) is entirely within reach for the “Orange House.” If the teams playing before them (since HLE – Gen.G is the last match) in the Elder group have already won, this group will be the winning group, and HLE will advance regardless of the results.
Meanwhile, T1, Gen.G, DK, and KT carry a heavier burden as they are the teams that will play first. T1 is likely to have to compete from the risky Play-in round if Gen.G continues to maintain their perfect form. Even if Gen.G loses 1 or 2 matches against HLE, it won’t help T1 balance the score difference unless DK loses all.

Meanwhile, DK, KT, and FOX… will also have to bear the pressure. They are the teams playing first, and only DK faces a truly “tough” opponent (T1). If these teams “slip up,” they will create difficulties for their own group rather than for HLE.
