Faker possesses a rare quality that even rivals envy T1
Over the years, since Faker began to head down the slope of his career, people have noticed that the “G.O.A.T of the League of Legends” has gradually changed his playstyle. There are still highlight moments, still those “godly” plays, but Faker has shifted more towards leading and making plays rather than diving into the fray as he used to. It is from here that a rare commanding quality of Faker has emerged, as he gives the impression of being able to oversee the entire match even before it starts.

In a recent documentary clip from LCK, Faker shared: “Usually right after a fight ends, I will scan the mini-map, predict the situation, and decide what my teammates should do. If I feel there’s an opportunity and can see the path, I will make the call immediately. Actions like destroying a well-defended turret can happen in just a few seconds. Therefore, everything can be decided in a brief span of 1-2 seconds. Thus, I always strive to make the quickest judgment possible.”

For those who may not know, Faker also predicted a scenario and called for his teammates to prepare for a fight in the mid lane during Game 3 against JDG in the semifinals of Worlds 2023. The Shurima Shuffle moment later became legendary in League of Legends history and showcased Faker’s rare predictive ability.
Even UmTi – the former star of OKBRO and Team Liquid, had to admit, “I am very envious of T1 because they have Faker.”

Faker Will Ensure T1’s Continued Success
With what he has shown over many seasons, especially with three consecutive Worlds championships, Faker can still ensure T1’s success. However, in the 2026 season, T1 will again lose a “veteran player”. And perhaps, in the new season, Gumayusi is not the only player who needs to prove himself, but the entire T1 roster may need to step up as they have taken on a role that has long been regarded as second only to Faker’s in terms of capability.
