A Series of Milestones Awaiting Oner in the New Chapters of His Career with T1
Recently, Oner officially extended his contract with T1 until 2028. This is perhaps one of the most notable contract extensions in League of Legends, especially since Oner’s current contract with the reigning World Championship titleholder lasts until the end of 2026. However, this can be seen as a move preparing for Oner’s and T1’s long-term future. At the same time, it marks the beginning of a series of career milestones awaiting Oner.
First, there is the World Championship stage. T1 is the reigning champion, and Oner has already matched Bengi’s record of 3 World Championship titles. However, Oner has a great chance to surpass this number in the future, especially since T1 has gained a reputation for “only performing at 200% capacity when appearing at the World Championship” in recent years.
Next, Oner is also on track to become the next player, after Faker, to claim all the titles a player in the LCK can achieve while wearing just one jersey. Currently, he holds the LCK Championship, World Championship, EWC, and KeSPA Cup titles. Therefore, Oner’s next goals will be the LCK Cup, First Stand, and then MSI, as well as potentially an ASIAD medal.
Looking further ahead, T1 may also be planning to “cultivate” players from its own training ground to follow in Faker’s footsteps. Currently at T1, with Zeus and Gumayusi having left, Oner remains the only player fitting this criterion.
But this also brings pressure for Oner
