After 4 weeks of the VCS Spring 2020, it’s easy to see the dominance of Team Flash and GAM Esports over the other teams. Not only are they sharing the top two spots on the leaderboard, but they also demonstrate superior teamwork and individual skills. It can be said that in the remainder of the Spring Split, the race will only revolve around Team Flash and GAM Esports.

However, just a few hours ago, a rather shocking yet extremely brief announcement stated that “GAM Zeros” is likely to change this situation. A few people quickly captured this post, and even Zeros shared the announcement of the departure of commentator Văn Tùng, stating that he would be the top laner for GAM Esports.

The community’s reactions vary widely, but the common thread is concern for Team Flash. The official Facebook account for this team expressed its frustration, seemingly saying: “Come on, can we just play some games?” with the news of Zeros staying at GAM. This makes sense as Team Flash is currently at the top of the VCS leaderboard and has a great chance of winning the Spring Split. Suddenly having a formidable name like Zeros stay at GAM could mean their biggest rival is getting even stronger.

While it is regrettable to hear news of Zeros leaving GAM Esports before the Spring Split begins, it is also a promising signal for the VCS tournament. When the strength of the teams is not too disparate, the tournament will be much more exciting, making all three parties: organizers, teams, and fans happy. If Zeros truly stays at GAM, the scenario of them decimating all teams and winning the championship would unfold naturally, which would make the VCS less captivating.

After all, everything remains at the level of “teasing”, “rumor”, and nothing is certain yet. If this is true, the happiest party would certainly be GAM Esports and their fans, while neutral viewers might have to get used to the idea of GAM decimating their opponents and the narrative returning to the race for the runner-up spot.
