With the instability behind the scenes, Griffin has not been themselves since the 2020 LCK Spring season began. Therefore, it is not surprising that they easily “broke” against a T1 that is in high form.
It’s just unfortunate that the matchup between the reigning champion and the current runner-up of the LCK lacked the inherent drama, as Faker and his teammates had no trouble wrapping up the match with a final score of 2-0.
The most notable highlight in this confrontation was the historical milestone of Teddy – the main ADC of T1. He stood on the brink of reaching 1000 kills just three years into his professional career.
It’s not hard to understand why all attention was focused on the bot lane. While T1 built a strategy around Teddy to help him achieve his goal quickly, GRF also had to deploy a playstyle centered around the lower half of the map, where their brightest star – Viper – was stationed.
However, it wasn’t until the 19th minute of the second game that Teddy officially entered the legendary hall of the LCK. After an intense team fight, T1 turned the tables and wiped out Griffin, securing 5 kills in quick succession. Teddy, despite going down relatively early and only securing one kill, managed to hit the milestone of 1000 kills in the LCK.

Out of Teddy’s 1000 kills, 527 were secured while playing for Jin Air, while the number since joining SKT (T1) stands at 473 kills.

This achievement also makes Teddy the 10th player in LCK history to hit the 1000 kill mark. The top spot is held by none other than Faker, who is currently on the brink of making history himself as he is set to become the first (and possibly the only) player from South Korea to achieve 2000 kills.

Among the top 10 players who have achieved 1000 kills, there are many famous names such as PraY (2nd), Bang (3rd), Score (4th)… however, apart from Deft, Faker, and Teddy, the others have either retired or moved away from the LCK or past their peak.
Thus, theoretically, only two super ADCs, Deft and Teddy, remain with hopes of reaching the 2000 kill mark after Faker, but that is likely a story for a distant future.
