LOL: T1 Easily Crushes SANDBOX, But Faker Still Can’t Reach Kill Record Due to Tedious Strategy

T1 continues to secure a win in a dull match against SANDBOX, while Faker misses another chance to hit the 2000 kills milestone because... there was no fighting for kills.

T1 continued to secure a convincing victory against SANDBOX Gaming in the fourth week of the LCK Spring 2020 group stage. However, the team has many reasons to feel regret, as their captain – Faker, has once again missed the opportunity to reach a historic milestone.

Highlights of the match T1 2 – 0 SANDBOX Gaming

In the match against Griffin, Faker reached 1985 kills after two straight wins. This means he is just 15 kills away from the unprecedented milestone of 2000 kills before the match against SB.

Of course, these numbers are enough to affirm Faker’s position as the “King of LCK”; however, the goal of achieving a new record is always worth striving for, and perhaps the T1 players have tried hard to help Faker break the 2000 kills mark in the domestic league.

However, the events in the match against SANDBOX completely “betrayed” Faker. The sleepy, late-game strategy was maintained by both teams, leading to a shockingly low kill count.

In fact, the first game of the clash between T1 and SANDBOX ended after 30 minutes with only… 5 kills made, all belonging to T1, but Faker did not get any.

The second game was slightly better with a kill score of 3 – 14 in favor of T1; however, in this match, the Demon King only secured a mere 3 kills. Thus, after a tense Bo3 match, Faker accumulated a total of… 3 kills, bringing his total kill count at LCK to 1988, still 12 kills away from 2000.

If LCK continues to maintain the current playstyle, it may take another 2 matches for Faker to etch his name in history with the status of a record-breaking conqueror. In the context that fans are still counting down the days to witness Faker being honored, having to witness such a slow, cumbersome, and boring playstyle in the LCK is truly torture.

While strategy and victory are paramount, the way LCK teams play like this is truly torturous for fans
