Recently, Doinb faced an unforgettable incident while streaming, but what should be highlighted more is how the Korean League of Legends fans directed their negative reactions towards the FunPlus Phoenix player instead of showing sympathy for him.
Specifically, while streaming ranked games on the Korean server, Doinb unexpectedly discovered that one of his teammates had a racially discriminatory nickname towards Chinese people: “N**b China”. It wasn’t until 20 minutes into the game that Doinb realized this. He immediately set the player’s name to be hidden and showed a shocked expression before bursting into tears on stream.

What’s notable is the reactions from the Korean gaming community afterward. Many players mocked Doinb, claiming he was trying to act to win over Chinese fans, and criticized his crying on stream as fake, calling it “crocodile tears”.
Many malicious comments suggested that Doinb was fully immersed in his role of “my love for LPL”, and some even claimed he was willing to abandon his Korean roots just for the opportunity to earn money in China.

As we know, despite being a professional League of Legends player from South Korea, Doinb’s entire professional career has been tied to Chinese tournaments, starting from Qiao Gu Reapers in 2015 up to FunPlus Phoenix now.
In response to the criticism from Korean fans, Doinb shared his thoughts on the matter:
“What happened today (during the stream) made me very sad, I cried with my wife for two hours and really wanted to take a break. After that, I thought a lot about this, and the fact is that I am living well, so let me continue that.”
…
“The answer to today’s story is that I did nothing wrong. I love LPL, so why should I avoid this issue? That’s why I chose to face it.”
As for the player with the sensitive nickname, the discriminatory behavior of this individual has been reported and addressed by a Riot staff member.
