In Teamfight Tactics, there are many champions that require core items to reach their maximum power level rather than activating Traits and Classes. Especially, the ability of these champions to carry the team is extraordinary, regardless of the enemy they face. Therefore, if you’re unsure of which composition to play that includes one of the champions below, you can gather items for these champions and build a team around them.
Here’s a list of champions that only need 3 items to carry the team effectively:
Yasuo
In the current meta, Yasuo is one of the top champions with the Blademaster + Sands composition. However, even standing alone with 3 items, Yasuo can “Hasagi without missing a hit.” The 3 ideal items for Yasuo are Guardian Angel, Giant Slayer, and Bloodthirster.
At the beginning of the fight, Yasuo will utilize his skill and jump into the enemy’s backline to take them down with just one ability. Furthermore, Yasuo’s skill is calculated based on the number of attacks and is physical damage, making the current hot composition, Gem, unable to counter Yasuo.
Soraka
Soraka is one of the few champions capable of countering the entire enemy team’s carry with her silence ability. The 3 ideal items for Soraka are Archangel’s Staff (having 2 would be perfect), Spear of Shojin, and Morello’s Evil Tome or Rabadon’s Deathcap.
With her 3 core items, Soraka can silence enemies right as the battle begins, making most of the enemy team unable to use their skills before going down. Additionally, if Light is activated, Soraka will have a faster attack speed, meaning she gains energy quicker, ready to carry the team effectively at any stage of the game.
Kindred
Kindred is one of the few champions that requires very little energy to use their skill, allowing them to continuously “jump around” with just 1 energy item, but they will need all 3 items to achieve massive damage. The most suitable 3 items for Kindred are Archangel’s Staff, Guardian Angel, Infinity Edge (to increase critical damage), or Rapid Firecannon (to stay at a safe distance while dealing damage).
With these 3 items, Kindred can carry the team even without activating Marksman or Shadows. However, to reach their maximum power level, Kindred should ideally activate 3 or 6 Shadows, as it adds a significant amount of damage to Kindred’s skills.
Ezreal
With his great single-target damage, Ezreal can carry the team effectively if he doesn’t face a… Revenant composition. The strongest 3 items for Ezreal will be Archangel’s Staff, Guardian Angel, and Infinity Edge.
With these 3 items, each time Ezreal uses his skill, it results in an enemy champion going down. While strong alone, if combined with Frost or Marksman, Ezreal becomes even more powerful with his ability to stun and high attack speed.
Lucian
As a highly valuable 4-cost champion in Teamfight Tactics, Lucian is one of the few champions with skills that deal physical damage – making him immune to Dragon’s Claw. The 3 powerful items for Lucian will be Mercurial Cloak, Giant Slayer, and Infinity Edge or Guardian Angel.
With the items mentioned above, Lucian can take down 2-3 enemy champions with just one of his skills. If there are no activations, Lucian should stand in a safe position, but if with the Soul activation, Lucian can freely position himself anywhere as long as he deals damage to the enemy team’s carries.
Lux
The most expensive champion is also the most worthwhile one in Teamfight Tactics. The 3 ideal items for Lux are Archangel’s Staff (having 2 is even better), Guardian Angel, and Rabadon’s Deathcap or Spear of Shojin.
With these 3 items, Lux can wipe out the entire enemy team with a single Ultimate Skill. Standing alone, she is also very strong, but if she activates Traits, Lux becomes significantly more powerful. The activations that provide the greatest power for Lux will be Shadows (increasing damage), Water (energy recovery), and Fire (skill damage).
