GAM’s defeat was surprising but not too hard to understand
On the decisive match day of the VCS region to find the remaining team that will represent Vietnam in League of Legends at the World Championship, GAM – the pride and “big brother” of VCS unexpectedly “fell” with an unbelievable score of 0-3 against TSW. In fact, for many years, TSW has never managed to win against GAM in crucial stages, even when they had many “strong soldiers and generals”. This defeat of GAM, of course, came as a surprise, but it wasn’t too hard to fathom.

First of all, TSW played much better and was more determined. In fact, among the 3 representatives of VCS at this year’s LCP, it can be said that GAM, although the most anticipated team, had the most inconsistent performance. While viewers are accustomed to a MVKE ready to play unpredictably, GAM maintained stability but failed to show any improvement compared to their previous selves. The loss to TALON served as a “premonition” and the defeat to TSW was the final outcome of a domino effect.
Moreover, according to many opinions, GAM recruited real talents from the Mid Lane to the Marksman positions, but the playstyle still revolves purely around Kiaya and Levi. Meanwhile, Kiaya himself seems to have reached his peak performance, and in many of GAM’s defeats this season, “em Sang and anh Khánh” directly made mistakes that led the team to defeat.

An opportunity for GAM to rebuild and start anew
The defeat to TSW marks GAM’s first absence from a World Championship since 2017, and the reason is entirely professional, with no external factors influencing. This is also the first season that GAM has come up empty-handed across all competitions, something that many fans could hardly imagine at the start of the 2025 season.

But it can be said that defeat is also an opportunity for GAM to truly reflect and rebuild entirely. They are still a force and will secure a spot in the LCP next season. However, it is clear that GAM is no longer as strong as fans expected and could shatter at any moment if they continue to let existing weaknesses linger.
