JDG boasts a “terrifying” record before being “shut down” by T1
It can be said that, up to this point, JD Gaming in 2023 is one of the teams that have come closest to the Golden Road in the League of Legends scene. In fact, they were just two matches away from completing this record. However, at the moment they were nearing glory, they were “shut down” by T1, stemming from a moment of genius by Faker.
Recently, however, the audience discovered a “terrifying” achievement of JDG in 2023. Specifically, they are the only team that has lost just one BO5 match throughout the entire 2023 year. In other words, if they win against T1, and likely go on to win the Worlds 2023, JDG would be the first team to complete the Golden Road with a perfect record in BO5 matches.
JDG’s achievements only make T1’s victory even greater
In fact, before the Worlds 2023 began, not many viewers believed that T1 would achieve anything remarkable. Even T1 fans had to continuously pray for their team to succeed. And although they had defeated BLG and LNG, perhaps more than 70% of League of Legends fans believed that T1’s journey would end in the semifinals against JDG. This held true until Faker executed the legendary Shurima Shuffle.
It can be said that with just one victory, T1 opened a new chapter in their history. At the same time, they ended one of the most “stunning” records in League of Legends history, as well as concluded the era of one of the strongest teams that professional League of Legends has ever produced.
With such significance, it’s no wonder that to this day, T1’s victory over JDG is still talked about as one of the greatest achievements in League of Legends history.
